If you would like to contribute to our Nursery Pots blog, feel free to contact us.

Nursery pots are those really small pots that nurseries or gardeners use to grow seeds and seedlings. Once the optimum growth is done, it will be time to move the seedlings into bigger pots, and eventually into the ground, in the garden. Most of the nursery pots are made from plastic, to make them reusable for several plantings. Simply throwing them away after one planting seems such a waste, as they can still function properly.

Nursery pots designs

Nursery pots come in several sizes and shapes; some beautiful, some colourful, some plain and simple and functional. Sizes can range from one gallon up to ten gallons or more. No matter the type of plant, nursery pots make a good venue for growing outdoor and indoor plants.

Nursery pots drainage can be designed two ways, one with holes on the bottom, the other have holes on the walls of the pots.

Gardening shops, some department stores, even online shops sell nursery pots, which can range from $.099 to $100, depending on the quality, design and brand.

Nursery pots for growing vegetables and flowers

Nursery pots are also perfect for growing your own plants that may include potatoes, carrots, celery, broccoli, and cauliflower. All you need is to plant the seeds into the soil, and you can grow your own vegetables in your garden, at a later date. This is also a good way of introducing children or students to the science of growing seeds, and their development.

The children are taught how to put soil in the pots by themselves, plant the seeds and water the growing seedlings, until eventually they are ready for either harvest or transfer. Children love telling stories of how big their plants had grown in just a matter of days. Some even take daily pictures as proof that they actually grew a plant.

Growing certain flowers from seeds, using nursery pots, can save you a fortune, when compared to buying ready-grown flowers from the nursery.

Sometimes, especially during spring, we tend to buy a lot of plants from the nursery to place in our gardens. It is during these times that the number of nursery pots piled in one corner, can reach a huge collection, and you wonder what to do about these.

There are some states that make it possible for homeowners to recycle the nursery pots, and some you can give back to the nursery, where you can get a refund for bringing them in, but both are good choices for saving the environment.

In summary nursery pots can be an excellent purchase if you take home gardening seriously, and there are definitely a lot of excellent choices to be had.
